Welcome to Clare Hawley Jewellery

Welcome to Clare Hawley Jewellery

I am a jeweller based in the Dorset countryside, specialising in bespoke commissions and jewellery making workshops. Working with recycled silver and gold, I create unique, handcrafted pieces using traditional techniques, with a focus on sustainability and craftsmanship.

Alongside my own collections, I offer custom jewellery design, from reimagining heirlooms to creating one-of-a-kind pieces tailored to individual clients. I also teach jewellery making, sharing my skills and passion with those looking to explore the craft.

Commissions and bespoke work

Bespoke Jewellery – Crafted Just for You

Creating one-of-a-kind jewellery is at the heart of my work. Whether you have a clear vision or just the beginnings of an idea, I work closely with you to bring your design to life. Every commission is carefully considered, ensuring that the final piece reflects your style, story, and sentiment. From engagement rings and special occasion jewellery to unique everyday pieces, I tailor each design to suit you, using traditional techniques and sustainable materials, including recycled silver and gold.

Reimagining Family Heirlooms

Jewellery carries memories, and reworking inherited pieces into something contemporary allows you to preserve their sentiment while creating a design that suits your style. Whether it’s a ring that no longer fits, an old piece that isn’t worn, or inherited gold and gemstones, I can transform them into something fresh, meaningful, and wearable. By carefully deconstructing and repurposing the original materials, I ensure that your new piece maintains its history while being completely unique to you.

If you’re interested in commissioning a bespoke piece or reworking heirloom jewellery, I’d love to discuss your ideas and explore the possibilities.

Silver jewellery classes

I work from my studio in a remote part of the Dorset countryside at Rampisham Down, the former BBC World Service site. It’s a quirky place, and visitors love it—especially those who remember it as Rampisham Aerials. Seeing the site thriving again and welcoming people inside is always a pleasure.

Being here has also allowed me to open a jewellery school, where I run silver jewellery-making classes that attract visitors from across Dorset and neighbouring counties. Many students arrive feeling apprehensive, trying the craft for the first time, but watching their excitement as they complete their final piece is incredibly rewarding.

We offer a variety of classes to suit all tastes, from beginner-friendly workshops to more in-depth sessions. Each class gives you the opportunity to bring your own creativity and style as you design and handcraft your own piece from silver. Whether you want to create a simple ring, a textured pendant, or something more intricate, I’ll guide you through the process using traditional silversmithing techniques.

All materials are provided, and no prior experience is needed—just a willingness to learn and have fun! Prices range from £58.00 per person. Whether you’re looking for a unique experience, a gift for a loved one, or the chance to develop a new skill, our classes offer something special for everyone. See the classes page for more details and how to book.
