Broch houses are huge Iron Age structures found only in Scotland. There are around 500 of these round houses and I am fortunate to have one two minutes’ walk from my house at Ardvar. In 2017 the Clachtoll Broch was excavate and the following archaeological project fascinated me especially to aerial photos of the large stone circle. You can find out more about the Clachtoll dig here http://clachtoll.aocarchaeology.com/.
The pieces I’ve made are very simple and modern and may not resemble a Broch house, but they are inspired by those amazing photos of the stone circles.
